Hula Hoop Gift Certificate
For Portland Homeless Family Solutions (PHFS) Auction, I will be donating a gift certificate. The certificate is good for four hooping lessons (one month's worth) free. I also make my own hoops and I offer a custom made hoop which you can help make if you have any interest in doing so. It doesn't matter if you have never hooped before.
Hoop dance is a fun way to express your creative side while getting some excercise. Hoop dance is fun by yourself with your ipod or with friends at a concert. It improves flexibility, strength, and coordination. I find it reduces stress and puts a bounce in my step too! Beginner hoop dance covers hooping around the waist, hands, and dance steps. Intermediate hoop dance includes hooping around the chest and legs and difficult transitions like jumping through the hoop or throwing it in the air and catching it. Expert hooping includes difficult postures and multiple hoops.
I have been hooping for 2 years and love it! I am at the intermediate level. My goal is to get up to five hoops at once. I practice at least once a day in my back yard. I learned from watching others, and the very inspirational "Juicyhoops." Her website is www.juicyhoops.com
I recommend watching a couple videos on youtube for inspiration. I will try and post some of my favorite videos along with my own!
